Kildonan Castle and Kildonan Beach

Heavy rain started again and I drove to the Hotel at Lamlash Bay checked in and had a rest. The weather improved late afternoon and I drove to Kildonan Castle. A small car park at the top and steps down to the Beach.

Evening light was great and the cone shaped Island of Ailsa Craig and Pladda Island with the lighthouse were visible in the distance. The rock formations on the beach were great. Kildonan Castle is just a small ruin and sits on top of the cliffs.

On the way back still at Kildonan Beach I stopped again. A great view across towards Lamlash Bay, great pebbles and I only found out later that there are dinosaur footprints on that beach!

The leaf shaped rockpool I took a photo of may be one of them.
