Loch Lommond and the drive to Glencoe

It was my first trip to Scotland after our honeymoon holiday 35 years ago! I left Edmundbyers very early to have the opportunity for some shots on the way before I met Gary Groucutt and the rest of the group at the Holytree Hotel in Kentallen for the workshop on the Isle of Skye. After Glasgow the route takes you along Loch Lommond (first 3 shots) where I followed the recommendations for the photo spots from Ellen Bowness´s book. I continued past Tyndrum (where we would stay for two weeks after the photo workshop) into the Glencoe Valley and had my first impressions of the beautiful landscape. The reflexions at Loch Achtriochtan were really wonderful.  It was also good light for the Achnambeithach Cottage at the back of the Loch. The bridge is part of the main road to Fort William across Loch Linnhe. After I arrived at the Hotel in Kentallen we had a short evening photo outing along Loch Linnhe very close to the Hotel (last 3 shots). Since we left the next morning for the Isle of Skye there wasn´t an opportunity for another photo session at Loch Linnhe. But in January 2024 I was able to do much more along the shore of the Loch.
