Buachaille Etive Mor

The name of this iconic mountain range means: The great herdsman of Etive. The pyramidal Stob Dearg is particularly striking. I arrived at around 13:00 which is normally not an ideal time of day for photography. But the mist had cleared and the sun was coming through at a low angle lighting the scenery from the side. I took many shots with the waterfall of the river Coupall which joins the Etive a few hundred yards below the waterfall. To my amazement there was a wedding ceremony on the plateau above the waterfall in temperatures around zero and biting wind!

I made good use of all three lenses (70-300; 28-70 and 15mm APS-C) being mounted on my three bodies so that no exchange of lenses would be required in these arctic conditions. Enjoy the shots.

Again I turned some of the shots into Black&White which gives the winter atmosphere another boost I think. When I showed the photos to Gary a few days later I was really happy that he decided to have one the shots on his website. Pleased as Punch as they say :):
