Eggleshope Panorama

After a good rest at Curlew cottage I decided to go back to Eggleshope and take a Panorama from above the road looking towards Eggleshope Beck despite the threatening weather. This road from Teesdale to Stanhope is my favourite road in the area. A few days later I spent a whole day driving along and taking more panoramas. I spotted a good parking place on the way back from my morning walk, which is a small layby next to a gravel road that leads up to some grouse shooting butts (you can spot my car parked along the road on the left of the picture). One of the shooting butts served me as a solid stand for my tripod. The weather wasn´t too good but the Panorama gives a good impression of the loneliness of the area. The Panorma is not crispy sharp since there was a strong wind and I probably underestimated the shake on the camera despite it being on a tripod. Good lesson to learn and I will definitely come back in more favourable weather conditions.

On the left you can see Grassholm Reservoir in the distance and a little bit to the right Kirkcarrion. On the very right of the picture you can just see Middle End Farm and Eggleshope Beck where I had the walk in the morning.

On the ridge on the other side you can make out the road that leads you directly into Middleton from Eggleshope Beck joining the main road to Stanhope above Middle End Farm.

I managed to include the Panorama on this page. If you want to zoom in however you can download it with the link below.
