Drive along Derwent Water to Ashness Bridge with the view of Skiddaw. A short walk through a bluebell wood to Surprise Viewpoint across Derwent Water  toward Catbells and with Lodore Falls Hotel at the Lake shore.

Starting the main walk at Watendlath. Nice lunchbreak at Rosthwaite at the Flock Inn Tea room at Yew Tree Farm.  From Rosthwaite on to a sheepfold at Stonethwaite ; a steep climb up to Dock Tarn and back to Watendlath.

Good rest at the Lodore Falls Hotel and dangerous scramble up to Lodore Falls.
