Dufton Ghyll

Most people use Dufton as a base to walk towards High Cup Nick. We did the lower bit of the walk pictured in 2018 but got lost trying to find our way through the forest coming up from Flakebridge Wood and had to come back. When I studied the map again I noticed that the nicest part of the wood (Dufton Ghyll) is only a short walk away from the carpark in Dufton. After I came back from the walk towards Great Rundale and had a picnic I walked down to the Ghyll and enjoyed taking photographs of the fantastic woodland. Doesn´t the fallen tree on photo #8 looks like a dinosaur? With a bit of imagination the ingrown branch on photo #9 looks like some creature too. Coming back from the forest I made my way across to start my next holiday at Curlew Cottage at Kinninvie inTeesdale.
