The way to the Quiraing

The Quiraing (pronounced kwir-ang) is at the northern end of the Trotternish Ridge. After Portree the road takes you along Loch Fada and the Old man Of Storr. We stopped twice along the way and were able to take some great shots back across Loch Leathan (the next Loch after Loch Fada) with the Cuillins in the distance and further along beside the steep cliffs with great views across the bay towards the Isle of Rona and the mountain ranges on the mainland. With the Quiraing in view we stopped and checked if cars were going up the steep pass. On the last two photos you can see the plateau where we later were and you can just make out the thin line which is the steep road leading up to the Quiraing. There was no traffic so we expected the pass to be closed which meant we had to walk up the Quiraing......
