The Eden Valley

The Eden Valley is right next to the popular Lake District and is therefore often neglected by Tourists. It has its source high up in the North Pennines and after 75 miles enters the North Sea in the Solway Marshes on the Scottish Border. We did many walks in the area which includes the Eden´s tributaries, the Eamont near Penrith, the river Irthing and the river Gelt. There are many more places for us to explore in the Eden Valley so the chapters are by far not complete. A very good book for walks is "Walking in Cumbria´s Eden Valley" by Vivienne Crow.

On the entry page I included some of the nicest photos.
