After a long and strenous drive in already threatening weather we were able to walk around Hard Knott Fort on our own for half an hour before the rain started. We wanted to walk from Hardknott Fort onto Harter Fell but the rain did not stop. So we drove down the Eskdale Valley to  Gosforth. Saw the Norse Cross in Gosforth. The rain stoped and we had a great walk above Gosforth with views of the Sea and the Mountains towards Hardknott.
