Deepdale Wood is  a small nature reserve just outside Barnard Castle with a small enclosed car park at the entrance which is easily missed. The entrance is just behind the bridge that crosses Deepdale Beck just before it flows into the River Tees. I had a scouting walk a couple of days earlier and knew where to take the photos which helped a lot since I carried the heavy tripod and the rucksack with the camera gear.
