Hole of Horcum

The Hole of Horcum is an unusual bowl-shaped valley cut into the moors. It is more than a 100 Metres deep and almost a kilometre across. There is a big car park alongside the A169. The best view is from the end of the parking lot towards Whitby. When you continue on the road towards Whitby there is a steep descend almost immediately after the car park with a small layby on the left side. From there you can take the footpath which gives you a different view into the valley (last photo).
