Panorama Holwick Scar

The Panorama was taken from the Crag above Holwick Scar. Climbing up to the crag I was joined by the dog from the farm below the crag.  I can only upload a downsized Jpg onto the website which you can see below. You can also not zoom in. If you would like to see it in more detail and be able to zoom in, you can click on the download button and a bigger sized JPG will come up. Notice that in the center of the panoramma just underneath the z-shaped forest is Bowlees Visitor centre with Gibson´s Cave down that ravine. On the last picture of day 2 "Birds at Low Force - Gibson´s Cave" you have the view towards the crag from which this panorama was taken.

Unfortunately the weather was not very good and it actually started to rain while I was taking the photos. I will definetely come back to the same spot in more favourable conditions.

On the right you can see the Hamlet of Holwick and the rocky Holwick Scar behind. More photos of it on the previous page: "Holwick Scar". The trees on top of Kirkcarrion are also visible just above Holwick Scar in the far away distance. On the left of the picture is Holwick Lodge, property of the Earl of Strathmore who owns most of the area. In the 1970's the Aga Khan & The Royal Family were regular visitors to the large shooting lodge.
