Curlew at Bollihope

I already took some shots of curlews at the cottage (The name Curlew Cottage is well deserved because every evening Curlews settled in the meadow next to it) and I saw them many times on my walks. They are characterised by their long, slender, downcurved bills and mottled brown plumage. The English name is imitative of the curlew´s call. This time I was really lucky. I parked on the roadside above Bollihope Burn to take a photo from that side of the river when I heard some curlew chicks above me in the meadow. I was not able to see the chicks but the parent was standing guard and didn´t move away. He / She was eyeing me suspiciously the whole time. So I had plenty of leverage to get my zoom lens ready and managed to get some really good shots. See for yourself....
