I was texted by a friend from Germany telling me that the Northern Lights would be visible that night. I set the alarm clock and went out on the meadow behind the caravan park. I was fascinated by the milky way with the tree in the foreground. No sign of the northern lights.

So I happliy set my camera up facing south and took photos of the stars until I noticed the red glimmer on the bottom half (see first photo) I turned round and bazinga!

My first time ever to see the northern lights and I almost missed it looking south :)
