The shortest of the four walks along this road. The viewpoint at the top has the advantage of being able to look back towards Teesdale and ahead towards Stanhope and Weardale. On photo #1 you can see one of the ringed poles that help the snowplows to find the road in Winter.

There is a faint path leading up to the Crag and the car park is not very far away as you can see on some of the photos. The last photo shows the road in the distance leading up towards the starting point of the walk to Carrs Top a few days later.
