Without Vivienne Crow´s Book we would have not known about these two places near Lanercost Abbey. Quarry Beck is a secluded gorge with waterfalls, small meadows and occasional outcrops of gorgeous red sandstone. From the top you have wonderful views as far as the scottish hills and when you enter Ridgewood there is a line of massive beech trees at the edge of the forest.
