Teesdale Way from Egglestone Abbey Bridge

After the strenous walk in the morning to Jerry Force I decided to go to Egglestone Abbey. We had visited the site on our way to our Alston holiday in 2017 and walked to the "Meeting of the waters" (River Greta - River Tees); one of the scenes that the painter Turner painted during his stay in the Pennines. The sky was overcast however and I decided it was not the right time to take photos of Egglestone Abbey. So I parked at a small layby just before you descend down towards Egglestone Bridge. I went down to the River to get some shots of the Abbey from across the River but it was difficult since it is too low down. Photo #3 (numbers include map) is the best try. So the Abbey has to wait until the next trip to Teesdale. I followed the Teesdale Way towards the bridge, crossed the stile through the bridge wall and followed the trail along the river. My aim was to go as far as the "Meeting of the waters" and take photos from the opposite bank of the river which I remembered from our first trip to be an excellent location. The walk there took longer than expected (mainly because I took my time to enjoy the scenery and take lots of photos of the beautiful blue bell scenes along the way). I came to a ridge where on the opposite site a small beck joins the tees photo #13 (after studying the map at home I found it is Manyfold Beck) and had a good rest there before I decided to turn back. When I studied the map at home I found how close I had been to the target (see the arrow on the map)! The whole walk however was really beautiful and relaxing. The meeting of the waters has to  wait until the next visit to Teesdale.
