After the long and tiring walk at Haweswater in the Lake District I decided to visit Brougham Castle near Penrith on my way back. We had a walk in the area a few years earlier and just passed the castle without visiting. 

It was a just by chance that I noticed the entrance to the tower which is not signposted and difficult to spot. I was able to climb up and enjoy the fabulous views from the top. When I commented on that at the entrance on my way back the lady apologised for her colleague who had not pointed out the possibility to climb to the top.
