We parked the car on the road to Appletreewick a short drive from Pateley Bridge and walked towards Troller´s Gill. We found it too dangerous to descend into the narrow gorge from the top (photo 2) and followed the wider grassy path along the Gillhead mine workings (photo 1). At the cafe at Parcevall Hall further down we had a rest and came back up to the entrance of the gorge. Finding the path too risky (photos 4 and 5) we returned via the same moorland track.
