The Pass of Glencoe

The beautiful weather continued after breakfast and I decided to go to a vantage point for the three sisters where we had not been in March. It is below the Study. You park in a small layby just underneath the lone white House. After I set off from the Hollytree Hotel however I stopped at a viewpoint from which you can see a small rock where the Cormorants rest. The first three photos are from that view point.

I found the parking spot for the vantage point and the good stepped path up. The snowy conditions were not too tricky to climb up. From this vantage point high above the main road you have a splendid view towards Glencoe with the three sisters on the left and the ridge of Aonach Eagach on the right. I arranged for some good shots from the tripod and than took some more detail shots with the zoom lens without the tripod since the light was good enough. But than I noticed a weather front coming up from Glencoe (visible already on the last photo)  and I quickly made my way down again just in time to reach the car when a fierce snow storm started....
