After a fantastic Hay Meadow Walk in Weardale and a good rest in Stanhope we visited the former Limestone quarry. The weather was great and the scenery was spectacular. The photos are in chronological order. The approach to the quarry on the road from Stanhope to Teesdale, a short walk along the river and we entered the quarry area until we came to the Lime Kiln which is from the 18th century. The last two photos were taken when we continued towards Teesdale. This road is recommended in David Bellamy´s Book "England´s last Wilderness" and it is really spectacular.
