The trip to the Isle of Arran was great. It takes 3,5 hrs by car from Edmundbyers to reach the Ardrossan the ferry port on the mainland. The ferry takes an hour to arrive at Brodick. I had booked two nights at the Lamlash Bay Hotel and arrived at lunch time. Unfortunately the weather was not good but it improved in the afternoon and the forecast for the next day was good. I had a full day of good weather and made good use of it since the weather report for the following day was pretty bad. Day one was great but day two was awful weatherwise. I spent a long time at the History Museum and than preponed the ferry since it never stopped raining. The journey back was also good and we will definitely come back together to explore the island more.

It is absolutely true that it is called Scotland in miniature: Waterfalls, Mountains, Castles, Stone Circles and fantastic beaches and wildlife.
