Walk from Yad Moss towards Cow Green

The weather was threatening but still okay so I drove through Teesdale towards Alston and parked the car along the road near the top. I wanted to do part of the walk shown  walking from the top towards Cow Green until I could get a view of the Reservoir. The track is easy to find from the road side and really excellent to walk on (see photo #6). Photo #5 gives you an impression of the peaty soil. It is a wonderful scenery with the radio telescope on Great Dunn Fell and Cross Fell in the distance. On some of the photos you can see the river Tees meandering towards Cow Green Reservoir. (When I walked to Cross Fell with John and Richard a few years back Richard was trying to find the source of the Tees high up on Great Dunn Fell lying flat on the ground pushing his arm down a small pit.) I descended towards Cow Green but the weather deterioated and so did my tooth. I therefore cut the walk short and went back. Just as well because as soon as I reached the car a heavy downpour started. A few hours later I tried to get an appointment at the local dentist at Barnard Castle but was told that I have to wait at least three weeks. So the next morning I started the 500+ km drive to Dover took the next ferry and instead of travelling to Lowestoft a few days later arrived back in Brühl the same evening. I saw my dentist the next three days having root canal treatment and was able to make my way to Lowestoft on the following Sunday to join family for the holiday in Suffolk.
