Lake District Haweswater

Rosalind and I had a walk at Hawswater a few years ago during our holiday at Watermillock. This time I started early in the morning from Edmundbyers. It took almost 2 hours to arrive at Mardale Head. The last kilometres are on single track road. I regretted not to have started even earlier because by the time I arrived it was the time when all the Mums were taxiing their kids to school. The small car park at Mardale Head was already busy at 7:30! I took the "middle Route" from the carpark and later on cut across to the right to reach the small path that leads up to Blea Water. I had a picnic there and returned because I was quite tired from the early journey. Next time I will travel late in the evening, stay overnight in the campervan and start the walk really early in the morning.  The scenery all around is spectacular. The first two photos after the walk map and the last three photos were taken in the afternoon on the way back along Hawswater looking back at Mardale Head and taking in the scenery around Hawswater.
