Eggleston Hall

Before I drove to Newcastle to catch the Ferry I visited Eggleston Hall with its nice cafe and beautiful gardens. It is only a 10 minute drive from Curlew cottage. I enjoyed wandering around there and having some scones afterwards in the cafe before I setoff after a wonderful three weeks in Teesdale. For buying plants its heaven as you can see from the first photos. But the gardens next to it with the old church are also really beautiful. The goldfinch was an unexpected bonus. ( I am pretty sure it is a goldfinch) Jim has to confirm....
