Long-Tailed Tit

It was fantastic to get these photos on my first visit to Low Barns in May 2023. One of the first times ever I tried to catch a bird in flight. The description in the Collings Bird Guide Book (page 226) is very apt:

"A delightful little bird with a proportionately very long tail and seemingly an almost spherical body. It moves in a rather jerky fashion and has acrobatic feeding habits".

Absolutely right. It just catapulted itself into the air from the bushes with the wings to its body and turned and twisted quickly.
