God´s Bridge

During my last stay I visited Bowes Castle and went down to the river from there to take photos of Mill Force Waterfall just below the castle. This time I went past the castle to meet the river Greta further upstream and follow it until I reached God´s Bridge. A beautiful walk with great scenery. Photo #7 is showing the small stream that further up on the hillside has Huggil Force hidden in a ravine. It was really striking to see the riverbed completely without water at some places due to the really dry summer. When I reached God´s Bridge I was even more dissappointed. There was just a little pond underneath the bridge! For comparison I downloaded a photo (#17) to show you the different atmosphere when the Greta is full of water. It gave me the chance however to climb underneath the rock formation which is normally impossible.

I took the same way back which gave more opportunities for great photos in really nice weather.

The very last photo shows Citroen Seat in the distance. This viewpoint was recommended to me by a dog walker during my last stay. As you can see from the weatherfront approaching I didn´t make it up there on that day. Citroen Seat was one of the projects that I had to abandon due to my upcoming toothache....
